I don’t know who’s more deserving of this nomination – a batsman averaging less than 20 in a home Ashes series captaining his country, or the selectors for thinking it was a bright idea to give a selfish little shithead in the worst form of his career the honour… Either way, Michael ‘Pup’ Clarke has long irritated me, but after his attitude in the latest Ashes series culminating in a night out during the penultimate Ashes Test (going to the Cas’ late at night on day 3 to ask Michael Slater about batting?! you’re fucking kidding right) he has earned his second honour of the Summer…

Unfortunately, with the dearth of captaincy material in the ranks at the moment, the best we can hope for is that Punter gets back into some serious form, at least until Tim Paine or Cameron White (or bloody anyone else!) step up and take the Baggy Green with some distinction, leadership, and no fucking tough-stickers..
